The Brand New Heavies

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Music
Genre: R&B
Artist:The Brand New Heavies
I'm probably one of the last people on earth to hear this wonderful album. This, the first by The Brand New Heavies, is pure soul and funk. Wonderful vocals (courtesy of N'Dea Davenport) and great instrumental tracks, their music had my engines running on a long day of work. I kept this album on repeat play, as I couldn't get enough of them. Yeah, the album is over 10 years old, but the grooves are timeless, the atmosphere chill, and the musicianship excellent. A true classic.

Wow

This happens to be one of my FAVEST ALBUMS EVER! I still spin this in my car and on the Ipod after almost 15 years! I picked up the drums because of this album. I saw them live, pressed up against the stage at the House of Blues back in college, and thanked God I was alive. I piped this album into my then unborn boy's ears (via headphones on my wife's belly) because I wanted him to be born funky!

This first album is the best of everything they've put out since.

Feel the funk, y'all! Have a good time!

I heart this album also. NEVER STOP was my favorite song and that was on repeat constantly.

I don't think I've ever heard more than one song of theirs, BUT I have heard their version of You've Got a Friend. Most revivals stink but theirs I totally loved, so much so that I used to play it in my shows once, twice a week. Wonderful rendition :>

Yeah. Absolutely the same reason I got hooked on Jazz as well. These are two of my all-time favorite Acid Jazz tunes.
