I Am REEEEEEEALLY Pregnant

Let me elaborate... I look and feel very pregnant. Now those symptoms that the baby books name are being experienced by me. Backaches (enough that it's getting progressively difficult to find a comfortable sleep position), a large belly, the desire to nap a million times a day, an increased appetite (so much so that I gained 7 lbs last month alone), and a little being in me that looks like I swallowed an alien. Fantastic!!!

Having said that, I'm thrilled as punch that the little one is doing well. Developmentally, she's exactly where she's supposed to be as far as her measurements are concerned. The ultrasound image also showed a nose, her lips (she stuck her tongue out too) and a well-defined chin. My husband thinks that chin belongs to me. The nose could also be mine, much to my great relief. We could also see her fingers and toes... a strong, beating heart, a bladder full of amniotic pee, beautiful legs and and a round, chubby head. I can't wait for her to appear!!!

We've just received our first Baby Shower gift... it was delivered to the house today. I already know what it is, so it won't be a surprise. My friend Stef and I also headed to a baby clothing outlet today, and walked away with onesies, pajamas, shirts, burp cloths, bibs, towels and whatever else up the wazoo! I'm sure we're going to receive more, thanks to the showers (and this baby's eager grandmother).

Now I have to start exercising. For my whole pregnancy thus far, I haven't been exercising. No swimming, no walking. I'm also asking a friend if she can teach pilates for pregnancy... hopefully I'll get a reply soon. The swimming pool in the backyard is starting to look good again, so I'm going to get myself a swim soon. Very soon.

No other report from here... I just thought to write to keep abreast of the latest baby developments. 3 months to go before the big day! 3 months to go before the series of sleepless nights and frequent feedings. 3 months before our lives are changed forever.
