The time is now, the day is here...

I'm on tomorrow night.

Unannounced, of course.  My official opening day is still March 6, but I've been allowed a "preview period" of sorts with the performances this weekend.  It'll allow me to get a few shows under my belt before next week.

So, if anyone is inclined to head to the Broadhurst Theater this weekend, please do come.  I'd appreciate it very much!

Say a prayer for me, and wish me luck... especially on the barricades that I don't fall and break something!

i also saw this video of a chat and rehearsal clips on broadway.com http://www.broadway.com/Gen/Buzz_Video.aspx?ci=544644 (same video linked by augustine73)

i must say i had goosebumps when I heard the singing parts. when i was younger and listening to Les Mis Tenth Anniversary Concert recording, somehow, i pictured you playing Fantine. And I even "heard" your voice sing the Fantine parts. I wish you the best in this new role.

Hi Lea, I'm Fletcher's friend... I was from New York & though I'm in PA now, I still try to go to New York to see shows - I AM A HUGE FAN!!! I've seen you in 'Ms. Saigon' & in Les Mis as Eponine - You were phenomenal as always!!! I'm sure you'll be great as Fantine - I'll try to see it again, though it'll be the 4th time I see Les Mis - I think it's worth it since you're there...'Wishing you all the best!!! Fides.

Good luck Lea! Im definitely sure youll do a great performance! Wear the thick clothes as i know its really cold there! Vegas is nice today...in the nice 70s!!! I loved your interview at the theatre!

Break a leg, Ms. Lea... but not on those barricades!! I was at your concert in Davao, a dream come true for me. Thank you for coming, hope you enjoyed our city as much as we enjoyed your performance. Did your brother Gerald (you are splendid together on stage) get to eat his durian? The best variety is the native durian, not those hybrid ones, in case there is a second time.

Oh sure. I wish you all the best...break a leg, girl!!! Hope I can watch too. My bro's lucky, he's now in US.

Break a leg, Manang!

I saw the rehearsal footages from broadway.com My gulay! What motherhood does to a woman (something we men will never know)! It was so heart-stirring and honest and nuanced... to think rehearsals pa lang yan. How much more the runs!

God bless you richly--you and everyone you love.

Chique Domingo said...

May the Almighty Father bless you as you use the talents He blessed you with; to inspire others and to give Him glory.

God Bless you!

Rico del Rosario said...

Lea, how was it so far? Isn't it exciting you get to start earlier? I'm sure those who bought tickets for the weekend were thrilled. I wonder if Celia Keenan-Bolger asks you how it was when you played Eponine. Have fun!

betsy . said...

Hi Lea, Does it hurt when the guy who plays Javert throws you all over the stage? I got worried after seeing the rehearsal video, :)

Dana Finley said...

You surprised us Lea, going on early! I am giving you a belated good luck. I enjoyed watching your broadway.com interview video. I found your thoughts about reading the parts in the book about Fantine interesting. Going back to Eponine, when you were preparing for the role, what did you take from the book and use to approach that role?

Nicole Jimenez said...

you are simply the best... lots a luck ...

it's so nice how you reference to the philippines in the video :) thanks for sharing your talent, lea... you do make all of us so proud :)

Li'l Dove Feather said...

Keep breaking a leg, or two,...just not on the barricades! ;p

Mich M.D. said...

Heeheehee!! Let's hope that Lea doesn't really break any sets. A leg or two, fine, but sets, not good. =P
