Me likey...nice costume...you look bery praynch. Any picture of the bullet boy?Break a leg tomorrow night, your official opening night!
We (my family and I ) saw the show saturday night... it was WONDERFUL all over again. I hadn't seen it in 14 years! Victor Hawks was amazing and the rest of the company was stellar . And well...your performance was... all I can say is WOW and thank you...You have breathed new life into Fantine. Made her character even more tragically beautiful than I have ever seen her. Thank you for doing such a beautiful job...God bless you and your family always!!!!
Yes, I like! Lea, you look so young you can still do Eponine! Have you seen your interview on broadway.com? It's here: http://www.broadway.com/Gen/Buzz_Video.aspx?ci=544644Lea, in the part where you were talking about your debut in Les Mis, they showed clips of you as Kim and Eponine, you don't look a day older at all.Just seeing the rehearsals were so heart-gripping! Grabe ang galing! Sobrang characterized and internalized mo si Fantine. I guess that's what motherhood does to a woman ;p I mean, your eyes showed so much emotion... it was just wonderful!May I make a constructive comment, though? During the rehearsals in the video, at the part where the French customer hits Fantine with a stick? Your fall was great and it did look so painful. But then you were able to get right back on your feet within a sec as if the pain vanished right away, too. I know that must be the blocking given you and you have to hit the mark for the song, but I would imagine somebody being hit hard like that, that the sting will cause some discomfort and may give some difficulty getting right back up. That's just about it.Well, you're doing your countrymen proud again! Break a leg!
ALUVEET! it's so frenchie! :Dbreak a leg again and again and again. Have fun!! :)
nice photo! yea, take more photos and share...
this begs for a backstage tour!! :)
Ms. Lea, you are looking greaaatt! I wish i was just a little bit older, then I can go to New York and watch your performance. :) break a leg, Ms. Lea!
You're so pretty, Lea!!!
hey lea! yes, i just heard from .... (trying to remember) ... just a few days ago that you're back doing les miz! yey! hope to catch you soon! belated happy b-day by the way. been traveling everywhere for work, haven't been able to log on forever so i failed to greet you. your birthday this year marks 21 years knowing ya. hahaha!
Me likes!!! :-) So what does Lea do after Fantine dies? That's quite a long break.
Fantine temporarily becomes a bullet boy and male soldier before she resurrects at the end. Try and find Lea at the barricade between those two scenes.
hi ms. salonga, thanks for the sneak peek, hope i could go back to NY and see the show.
Break a leg tomorrow night! I'll pray for your continued success!
very nice! post some more!

I agree with most of the blogs, you look very young and pretty, except for the ones who say that theywill watch your performances live. for us that can't, there's the internet. God bless, are Nicole and Robert among the audience?
i tried to watch the interview, the link which was so thoughtfully provided by bonger, but apparently I do not have a flash6 media viewer. they say it's great, I'll take their word for it.

You're very pretty Ms. Lea. With or without make-up, whatever costume you wear. You've got everything -- beauty, brains, talent, fame, attitude, a happy family... I'm soooooo envious of you =) Can't wait to watch you on Les Miz!!!! God Bless!!!!

Hehe. How did opening night go?
Pretty!! Is there internet connection backstage to keep you occupied during the second act?
What can I say, a lovely lady with the voice soft as thunder! How was your opening night Ms. Lea?
Me like, too! I hope you have more pics from the show and of course, backstage, or wherever :->
wow,, nice one!! keep breaking a leg!! you can do it!!! (unluckuly, I cant watch the broadway) but anyway, im happy for you
I like! But I like even more watching you /sing/ Fantine. This was not only the best Fantine I've ever seen (which is saying something: I've seen Les Mis 20 times) but also quite possibly the best performance of yours I've seen (which is saying even more, since you're always great). It goes without saying that you have a golden voice, but the levels of emotion you put into /I Dreamed a Dream/ were amazing, and the death scene almost as much so. I think I counted three distinct layers of feeling at one point. I hope you record /I Dreamed a Dream/. By the way, I hope you've had a chance to sit back and watch that Javert. He had the character down better than any other Javert I've seen. Thanks for the autograph, and for taking the time in this horrible weather to greet your fans. ARC
can't think of a word more than perfect to describe it... :D
Sooooooooooo pretty! Can't wait to see you!
actually, you look more like a baby than a mother. but that's a good thing! haha :D
nice photo ^__^wish i could watch the show :(
Ganda naman! Lea, we're coming to see you from DC this Saturday. Would you sign my Aegis '91 yearbook? I know I am 1 batch ahead but I am trying to get as many Ateneans to sign mine. You're top on my list, of course. Break a leg.
Fantinestic!! A smile that launched a thousand plays...
hi lea! any stores in NY selling your 'inspired' album? some fans want to get a copy before heading to see les miz...
yeheyeyeyey Lea!!!!!! =))
just saw u hours ago! you were amazing! will watch u again!
Hi Lea!We watched you last Mar 6 and just got back here in Chicago last night. It was so beautiful and everybody was so good, and of course an amazing performanced by you (bias ba?!... syempre fan!). Once you sang the 'I dreamed a dream', I can feel everybody was still, emencely listening to you. It was very powerful and at the some time full of emotions. My friend said she didn't even realized her jaw drop, and there was one bading infront of us who leaned forward and put his hands under his chin while listening. While I too, had my hand on my chest and by the end of the song was teary eye. It was a great experience for a first timer like us. Anyways, take care and God Bless!Nette
hi lea u wer awesome last night.. and u look so pretty.. i wish i could hear u sing more songs.. sana mag concert ka ulit sa NY.. by the way thanks for the pic and signature.. it was freezing last night thanks for spending some time wit us in the cold.. i hope i could see les mis again maybe in the summer.. take care n be careful on those barricades.. :)
For those that have been able to obtain Lea's pic and autograph, please let me know where I should go to do so. Also, how long is the wait for Lea to come out? I don't mind waiting hours on end, but I'd like to get an idea so I know if I could catch an 8 show (and order tics now). Thanks!

oh yes i like!ehe. you look so young...how was it?
it took us about 20-30 min, that's a rough estimate... since we were not even looking at our watches :)... she's very nice, esp if you want your picture taken with her.
Me like. Me like it very much. God bless!

Ms. Lea, I just saw the pictures taken by Joan Marcus, they are amazing. I really cant wait to see you. I'll see you soon! Take Care, and once again, all the best! GOD BLESS.
Helloo Ms. Lea,Seeing this post made me all the more excited for your performance!I'm 19 and currently in Buffalo undergoing medical treatment but I'll be home in about two weeks and there to see you as the beautiful Fantine I know you are. It'll be the best ending to such a horrible experience I am having right now. Hopefully I'll get to meet you again and take a picture with you, you are my broadway idol and I hope to be as captivating on stage as you are one day<3 Jasmin
Here are the pictures that cjnuque was refering to......Playbill Photocall of Lea as Fantine: http://www.playbill.com/news/article/106365.htmlGreat pictures, Lea!
OMG she's really pretty on the last pic... *sighs*
LOL!!! Ang cute!!! Parang baby because of the "head gear," hek hek hek!!!!!!!!!!!
Lea, when you mentioned your friend who played Fantine in Manila, were you referring to Miss Menchu?
Hi, Miss Menchu! What is your next show? Congrats sa Sound of Music! I watched twice :)
I like! And I loved your Fantine Thursday evening, too.
Cute pix, Lea! Fun lil' sneak peek into your dressing room! I enjoyed watching your rehearsal video and now I really can't wait till the end of April!!!!! Take good care of yourself (so I don't end up watching an understudy) Selfish ba? Hindi naman masyado! :) Thanks, FHC, for the Playbill link to more amazing Fantine pix.
Hi, Lea! I wish I could see you as Fantine but that would be impossible for now.Meanwhile, I read somewhere that MYX channel will feature you this coming March 18 at 9PM. The article said you will be singing most of your songs from your album. I can't wait to see it.
it's true, MYX featured her and she sang her own version of Promise Me. :)
You're so pretty and talented Lea!!! I hope to see you in Les Miserables in NYC this summer!!!
Saw you as Fantine last Saturday, ANG GALING!!! Not being biased or anything, but you're the best Fantine I've ever seen and I've seen quite a lot, from Manila, London, Original Broadway company, US 3NT and of course, the revival. Your "I Dream A Dream" is full of passion and beautifully sang. Normally I don't care much about Fantine especially when Daphne was playing the role. But I was really sad during "Fantine's Death" because that means you'll be a bullet boy until the finale. People sitting around me were saying that you have an amazing voice. Galing talaga!
what is your phone? great quality pix!
you're so cute lea!!! =)

break a leg! hopefully i get tix in April during my spring break.:0)
The beginning of spring break saw a boost to many Broadway box offices, including Les Miserables. In Lea Salonga's first full week as Fantine, the revival filled the Broadhurst Theatre to 94.20%, making it the third highest show in terms of capacity.Congratulations LEA! You made us proud again!!!
Can't wait to see your show on Tues, March 20th! im very very very excited! Hope you'll have time for some "kodakan" and autograph signing after the show.=) see you Lea!
Yes I like. Can't wait to see you on Saturday the 24th, Ms. Lea! It's a blessing that I get to see you in a favorite musical while I'm still living and working in New York.I'm one of your many 'number one' fans. You're such a source of national pride. You're a legend!God bless you and your family!
Lea, I read on playbill.com today that the cast of Les Mis will be on "the View" next Wednesday(March 21, I think) for Rosie's birthday. You should be on the show right? Do you know what song(s) the cast will be singing? I am looking forward to it, though I will have to record it on my VCR.
hi Lea! i'm so happy you're back in Broadway, as Fantine, no less...you are such an inspiration, keep up the good work...=)
Lea, you are a legend in the broadway industry!!! You make the Filipino people soooooooooo proud!!! :)
hi Lea, I saw your show last thurs (3-15) with my hubby and we were soooo touched by it. Oh boy, I'm sooo proud of you! Thanks sa autograph and photo with you (you're so game kahit umu-ulan sa labas). I was sooo speechless, I wanted to tell you how pretty you are in person and that I saw your concert at the Carnegie Hall, and I'm your greatest fan... and so much more to say, kaso, I was so speechless when I saw you in person, kaya ear to ear na lang ang smile ko - - - no words spoken! ganun' pala ang feeling no! I was so star struck!!!! Pinay rocks!!! ;)
Hi Lea, I know you were a guest speller in "Spelling Bee" last Sunday I saw that show and it was a hoot. What crazy words were you asked to spell and how well did you do? Share naman. Thanks.
wow! I was so excited when i heard that you we're going to do les mis again. les mis is one of my favorite musicals of all time! You were great as eponine before and I hope I get to see you play Fantine. God Bless!
you look very nice! :)
The problem with having seen you as Fantine is that now I can't listen to my recordings of other people in that role. :) Please record it!
VERY BEAUTIFUL in and out...
Lea, (or anyone else who can answer this), I just wanted to confirm when your last day on the show will be. Are you playing THROUGH the end of summer (ending August) or only until the beginning of summer (May/June)? I've seen "Les Miz" 4 times already but I just HAVE to see you as Fantine. I'd hate to fly all the way to NY to find I missed you on the show. Thanks a bunch!
Lea, please post a picture of yourself as a rebel. It was like "Where's Waldo" during the show because I kept looking for you. :)
LEA your performance in les miz is awesome! I cried when you sang I dreamed of a dream, when fantine died and on the last part where fantine joined jean..it was soooooo beautiful!!!! and thank you! you won't probably remember us ( we watched it last sat 3/31/07 2pm show) but you're so nice to accommodate me my mom n my sis-in law to have a pic with you.. oh and I did saw you as a rebel..:)
You look different here. But as always, still beautiful.
that's a cute pix...I could'nt believe my eyes when I saw you wearing that low-cut dress!! (we were seated in the 1st row of the mezzanine) the cleavage man!! hehehe One of my companions remarked "boobsie pala si lea" sabi ko...naka corsett kc;)
Off-topic question: WHEN WILL YOU WRITE YOUR OWN SONGS?You write very well in your blogs. I don't see why you shouldn't try your hand at songwriting. If motherhood could inspire you to play Fantine convincingly, I'm sure it can also inspire you to bring out the poet in you.I demand an answer to this one. Demanding no?
Yeah, I love this shot.
ang ganda mo Lea! Isa akong fan narito sa Cotabato!
