January 10, 2007

First...

To my loving, kind, generous and patient husband of three years, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

Second...

I'm getting some messages regarding my performance schedule and for how long my run in Les Miz is going to be.  So, just to clear things up, I will be doing all the shows on any given week (unless I'm ill or injured), and will be in the production until the end of its run, whenever that is.  Right now, it's been extended through the summer.  Let's see if it goes on longer.

Third...

We spent our anniversary with dinner at Old Manila at the Manila Peninsula Hotel.  Wonderful, wonderful food!  The dress code is casual, but the food is elegant, and it was a treat being able to enjoy such a delicious meal and a nice glass of wine.  I give it two enthusiastic thumbs up.  If you haven't been and you're trying to figure out where to go for a date, a night out or a birthday or anniversary, give this place a try.  You won't be disappointed.

Happy Anniversary, Lea and Rob!
So, what kind of wonderful food did you have at Old Manila? Pilipino cuisine? Is there Binagoongan in the menu? I'm getting hungry thinking about it.

Lea Salonga said...

It's actually modern European cuisine, strangely enough. Steak, foie gras, creme brulee, that sorta thing. And oh, so delicious!

You can view the menu on the restaurant's/hotel's website. Fine dining, elegant & satisfying fare...very similar to NY's "Special Occasion Dining" restaurants. Love, love foie gras. The new Le Cirque has delish foie gras!!! Happy Anniversary, Lea and Rob. Are Nicole and Rob staying with you in NYC until the show's run ends? Do you plan to move back to Manila after Les Miz?

Since I saw you do Eponine, I shouldn't miss seeing you do Fantine :-)

I got married there last year and we booked for three nights at Manila Pen Hotel. Their Hot chocolate is superb as well.... second best from the one i had in Lourdes, France. Anyways, Happy aniv Lea & Rob... all the best!!!

May God be with you and bless you:
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

PS: Maybe you'll take Fantine and Les Miz to Honolulu later...wishful thinking....

Hi Lea, Happy Anniversary!

By the way, I just want to ask you if you're still breastfeeding and if so how long are you planning to do it? I'm just curious, I just had a baby and I'm wondering how long should I do it..

Thanks..

Hi, Lea! OMG, I've typed and deleted what I want to say to you over and over again...it's really nice that you're so accessible to your fans. I wanted to say something catchy and different from what you normally hear, but really, all I want to say is that YOU ARE THE BEST. I can't wait to watch you perform in NY (provided my husband and I can save enough to fly from LA - but if we can't, who cares! That's what credit cards are for! Hehehehehe!) Keep being you...you're awesome! Much love from LA...Alisa

Happy Be-lated anniversary to Lea and Rob!

Mjrodis, since you said you have seen Lea play Eponine, I felt the need to ask again: What do you remember about Lea during "the Robbery" and "Eponine's Errand?" I am curious to know, because those scenes were not done in the concert. Anyone who has seen Lea play Eponine, feel free to answer.

Hi Lea! Belated Happy Anniversary to you and Rob..God Bless...I would just like to ask when the album is coming out?..It's something I am looking forward to buying.Something you could leave us while you do your stint in Broadway.Para hindi ka namin maMiss masyado...and also something we could listen to while waiting for the next concert (fingers crossed-hope you could do one this year)...Thanks and Take Care.

yeah, the food there is great.... we were there last march for graduation of my sis-in-law and we keep on coming back....
worth trying....

Breastfeed for as long as you possibly can. At least 6 months, but if you can go longer, so much the better! If you're working, it may be difficult, so invest in a really strong breastpump that you can take to work with you. A double-pump is a good idea, you can pump your milk in less time.

I've been breastfeeding for 8 months now, and my supply is still good, thank God. Good luck!

neri risos said...

correct....while supply lasts... in my case, i'm a busy working mom... and a very good breastpump will keep you going... it was with me wherever i go... and it's worth the hardwork... when you can see your baby is healthy...

Hi Lea...congrats on your anniversary. Any plans on releasing a live recording of your Carnegie Hall concert November 7, 2005. We were there front row center and I was just blown away by your "Defying Gravity." I found some bootleg footage from youtube but nothing beats a pro recording. Can't wait to see you as Fantine. I'll be seeing Les Miz on March 10th and the 31st, and then again on May 25th. Ingat!

Not about breastfeeding but still about breasts. Lea, you've recently become an advocate against breast cancer. May I ask what stuff you do as an advocate? *interview ba ito? LOL!!!!!*

I chose not to breastfeed and I regret that decision now. Thank God my baby is healthy eventhough he only got breastmilk for a month.

Congrats to you guys.

You've indeed matured beautifully - that photo is superb! You appear to be a very happy person - a loving wife, mother with a beautiful voice and presence to your many admirers too.

Good to know that you are not so "posh" about something as natural as breastfeeding.

Will have to get my sis to get me a copy of your CD - since I am not sure if it's available in Australia.
