I have a few minutes of peace and quiet before I head to work, so I thought to write about how the week has been going...
- Chip Zien (Thenardier) is doing very, very well. Considering that he's never done the show before and had only a couple of weeks to learn the role, he's doing great. I would give him another week or so before he gets really comfortable, but all of us are having a great time with him.
- Drew Sarich played his last Grantaire on Saturday night... right now he's on vacation for a week, and when he returns, he'll be learning Valjean full time. I know that there are quite a few of you that can't see him as a Valjean, but I'm going to sit and wait before I pass judgment. I have a feeling he's going to be fantastic though.
- Our newbies are pretty much all in! Mike Evariste is now performing, and this week Cortney Wolfson and Michael Minarik will be starting (hopefully). I love that my dressing room is right beside Kevin Stites's room; I get to hear them rehearse.
And that's about it!!!

That's nice that you're giving us these updates. Thanks! Stay cool! It's pretty warm out here in Cali.
I wish the new company the best and a very long run! Thanks for sharing.
I saw Drew as Javert at last Wednesday's matinee and I thought he did a great job. He looked a little young at first but as he aged he was more believable. I liked that his voice was a little bit "rocker" style - it gave Javert a different edge. The last time I saw the show was in 1989-1990 and my memory was that Valjean and Javert were both "old", but then again, I thought everyone was old when I was 21! If they can make him look older, I think he'll make a fine Valjean.
Break a leg, Les Mis newbies!
Hi, Lea. Will you be performing on Thursday, 7/5? My cousin is in town and is really excited to see you perform (she's never been to any of your plays). Thanks so much!
I want to see Drew as Valjean! He'll be amazing!!!
Thanks for the updates Ms. Lea.
I'll be in NYC on the 11th. See you!
Take Care and GOD BLESS!
I think it would be fun to watch all of the cast members vocalizing, rehearsing their parts, putting make up on,wigs /changing costumes.
Miss Lea aka Manang, Have a great week to you and Advance Happy 4th of July. :)
Will see Lemiz on the 21st of July! Don't get sick :)
Thanks for the update! God Bless.
It is wonderful that you always take time to keep us posted... you have such a good heart!!!
God bless you, LEA! how is your sweet daughter?
Lea, do you know Rhem Zamora? I saw him in one of your posted pictures. He's an old friend and classmate since grade school from Ateneo. We sort of lost touch right when I moved to the States. At that time, he was so busy with Blue Rep. I know this is a strange request to put on your personal blog but would you pass along my e-mail addy to him? Thanks. gerynep@aol.com (Gerry Nepomuceno)
Aw, hopefully I finally get to watch you on Les Miz, Ms. Lea.
Btw, I heard you on the 4th of july thing, my family were hoping that they'd show you but they didnt. But yeah, you were great nonetheless! :]
Hi Ms. Lea, I was watching the NY 4th of July show and it was a pleasant surprise to hear you sing Beyond the Dream. I'm so proud of you and your achievements.

Lea, thank you so much for the picture and autograph on June 30th! I really enjoyed the show, and I hope they make a recording of you as Fantine sometime in the near future!
I would just like to share that with the great performance of Lea as Fantine, Ali Ewoldt who plays Cossette...is vocally strong as well and extremely charming in person (just like Lea), Adam Jacobs is an awesome Marius (was also Marius in the National Les Miz tour in Toronto last year....I watched it then as well but didn't realize it due to my lousy seat location). I highly suggest that when watching a broadway show, it's pointless to buy a top high balcony seat when all you see is a miniscule image of the performers. Splurge and purchase great seats. If Orchestra seats are sold, front Mezzanine is comfortably acceptable as well.
Hi there Lea...
Do you still manage to read some books?
hi Lea!
i'm going to go out-on-a-limb here and ask you if i can add you to our small asian community site. we're a community of asian bloggers and diarists, and recently i had asked a couple of my favorite celeb asian singers, songwriters and entertainers if i could add them to our directory and so far two have said yes. folk singer/songwriters Corrinne May and Vienna Teng. so i was hoping you'd say yes too. but if not i completely understand.... :o)

Hi! Lea, I'm a big fan of yours since I was in high school back home in the Philippines. I'm in Florida now and I'm very glad to hear that you're back in Broadway performing again. It has been my utmost wish to see you perform as Kim in Miss Saigon. Unfortunately, I missed that opportunity. I really wish to see you in person this time while playing the role of Fantine in Les Miz. We are planning a trip to New York just to see you perform. Until when will you be on the show? And are you performing every night? Thank you so much.
hi lea! since i couldn't watch les miz there in NY, i settled for the dvd of les miz'10th year anniversary concert hehe i watched it again last night and i still get carried away everytime you sing "Ön my Own" and the heartbreaking "Ä little fall of rain" as eponine. Ang galing galing nyo ni Michael Ball. grabeee....
I hope that in the future, Cameron will release a DVD of the current play so we can see you perform as Fantine.
By the way, congrats troo for being the cover girl of the worldwide edition of the Catholic Digest. I read the excerpts of the article today in the column of Ricky Lo in Philippine Star. God bless you always. Cheers!
okay, on second thought, maybe just "x" my request. i feel like a heel now for asking. on the other hand, it would only take a sec to add you to the directory, and i would just need your blessing.
anyway, i'm all the way down in san diego, but if i could i'd definitely catch you at Les Miz in Broadway... especially to hear you sing I Dreamed A Dream! :o)
best regards,

i saw the july 11 show, waited for you outside, and asked about gerard. thanks to your answer, it occurred to me to look for him on your friendster account, which i found after doing some "research" for the post that i just wrote (http://digbig.com/4tfdx). i hope i got everything right.
finally, it was so good to finally see you onstage because, for one reason or another, i never got to see you in any of the shows you did in manila. i'm glad i decided to go to new york while you were still in les miz =)
