We (my family and I ) saw the show saturday night... it was WONDERFUL all over again. I hadn't seen it in 14 years! Victor Hawks was amazing and the rest of the company was stellar . And well...your performance was... all I can say is WOW and thank you...You have breathed new life into Fantine. Made her character even more tragically beautiful than I have ever seen her. Thank you for doing such a beautiful job...God bless you and your family always!!!!

Lea, in the part where you were talking about your debut in Les Mis, they showed clips of you as Kim and Eponine, you don't look a day older at all.
Just seeing the rehearsals were so heart-gripping! Grabe ang galing! Sobrang characterized and internalized mo si Fantine. I guess that's what motherhood does to a woman ;p I mean, your eyes showed so much emotion... it was just wonderful!
May I make a constructive comment, though? During the rehearsals in the video, at the part where the French customer hits Fantine with a stick? Your fall was great and it did look so painful. But then you were able to get right back on your feet within a sec as if the pain vanished right away, too. I know that must be the blocking given you and you have to hit the mark for the song, but I would imagine somebody being hit hard like that, that the sting will cause some discomfort and may give some difficulty getting right back up. That's just about it.

But I like even more watching you /sing/ Fantine. This was not only the best Fantine I've ever seen (which is saying something: I've seen Les Mis 20 times) but also quite possibly the best performance of yours I've seen (which is saying even more, since you're always great).
It goes without saying that you have a golden voice, but the levels of emotion you put into /I Dreamed a Dream/ were amazing, and the death scene almost as much so. I think I counted three distinct layers of feeling at one point. I hope you record /I Dreamed a Dream/.
By the way, I hope you've had a chance to sit back and watch that Javert. He had the character down better than any other Javert I've seen.

We watched you last Mar 6 and just got back here in Chicago last night.
It was so beautiful and everybody was so good, and of course an amazing performanced by you (bias ba?!... syempre fan!).
Once you sang the 'I dreamed a dream', I can feel everybody was still, emencely listening to you. It was very powerful and at the some time full of emotions. My friend said she didn't even realized her jaw drop, and there was one bading infront of us who leaned forward and put his hands under his chin while listening. While I too, had my hand on my chest and by the end of the song was teary eye. It was a great experience for a first timer like us.

I'm 19 and currently in Buffalo undergoing medical treatment but I'll be home in about two weeks and there to see you as the beautiful Fantine I know you are. It'll be the best ending to such a horrible experience I am having right now. Saw you as Fantine last Saturday, ANG GALING!!! Not being biased or anything, but you're the best Fantine I've ever seen and I've seen quite a lot, from Manila, London, Original Broadway company, US 3NT and of course, the revival. Your "I Dream A Dream" is full of passion and beautifully sang. Normally I don't care much about Fantine especially when Daphne was playing the role. But I was really sad during "Fantine's Death" because that means you'll be a bullet boy until the finale. People sitting around me were saying that you have an amazing voice. Galing talaga!

The beginning of spring break saw a boost to many Broadway box offices, including Les Miserables. In Lea Salonga's first full week as Fantine, the revival filled the Broadhurst Theatre to 94.20%, making it the third highest show in terms of capacity.

You write very well in your blogs. I don't see why you shouldn't try your hand at songwriting. If motherhood could inspire you to play Fantine convincingly, I'm sure it can also inspire you to bring out the poet in you.
